Mindfulness training is learning how to refocus our attention to the present moment. When we learn to stay more in the moment and less in the past/future, we spend less time focusing on what ails us. When we get caught up in the stress of our everyday lives, we often find that we get caught up in our struggles and have a hard time focusing our energy and time elsewhere. When we learn mindfulness training, we learn to refocus from what may have happened yesterday, last week, or in the days or weeks to come. Essentially, we’re taught how to get out of our own heads.
